The Dog

When I moved Mary out from CA in July we brought "her" dog Meghan. Meghan is a beagle, and she acts like it, well most of the time. I tell Mary that Meghan is a cat in a dog suit because of some of the things she does.
I have choosen to write about Meghan because she like every animal we have ever had is unique. Meghan is the first dog we have owned that didn't like car rides, when we on our way to CO from CA, Meghan was in the moving truck with us, literally whining the whole way there. She was unhappy with us for a few days after we got here because of that trip. But Meghan has changed her opinion of car rides, and I take full responsibilty for it.

Maghan has figured out that when we go for car rides, there are generally treats coming for her. (Our children are grown up, so our dog gets spoiled) Doggy biscuits from Einsteins, puppy cup from the local burger joint and french fries from me wherever we go. That she actually looks forward to car rides now to the point we dont want to take her anymore because all she does is make noises of anticipation. We went to get KFC the other day, and you would have thought she (Meghan) won a million dollars, with all the noise and excitment she made and had. She stuck her head out the window at the drive through just so she coud see what she might get. She got my biscuit that night but she wanted all of it.
Saturday we went to Einsteins in the morning as is our new Saturday tradition and Meghan was in her bed before it was time, it was like, hurry up and go so I can have my doggy bagel from Einsteins. She seemed actually annoyed that we had not left to get it. When we got home, there was little you could do to calm her down. I took pictures of the beagle and her bagel - will post on my facebook soon.
